Buying guide
Beard balm is the step after oil. It is thicker, with shea butter and beeswax that add light to medium hold and keep the beard conditioned through the day. Knightsmen organic beard balms are handcrafted in Toronto, priced in Canadian dollars and shipped from Canada. The hold is flexible, not stiff, so a balm shapes the beard without making it feel coated.

What is in a Knightsmen beard balm
Every tin starts from the same base: shea butter and beeswax for hold and conditioning, with grape seed, coconut and jojoba oils, vitamin E and rosemary leaf extract. Cedarwood and Sandalwood add the matching essential oil, African Musk uses a natural musk fragrance, and Classic has no added scent. The full ingredient list is on every product page.
Beard balm or beard oil?
Beard oil is a liquid that moisturizes the skin and softens the hair. Balm adds hold and a protective layer on top, which helps once a beard is long enough to need shaping or to stop flyaways. Most men use beard oil first and balm after, and matching the scent keeps the routine simple. The guide to beard balm vs beard oil goes through it in detail.
Choosing a size
The 1 oz tin is the one to try first or to carry with you. The 2 oz and 4 oz tins suit daily use at home. Each scent comes in all three sizes.

Frequently asked questions
Beard oil is a liquid that absorbs quickly to moisturize the skin and soften the hair. Beard balm is thicker and adds a light hold for shaping and taming longer beards. Many men use both: oil first for moisture, balm after for styling.
Scoop a thumbnail-sized amount, melt it between your palms until it liquefies, then work it through your beard from root to tip and shape it with a comb or brush.
Light to medium: enough to tame flyaways and shape the beard line through the day. It is not a hard-hold wax.
Four scents: Sandalwood, Cedarwood, African Musk and unscented Classic. Sizes are 1 oz, 2 oz and 4 oz, and the Beard Balm Variety Set has one 1 oz tin of each scent. The balms are made in Toronto with shea butter and beeswax.
